Training cum
distribution of bee Colonies under scheduled caste sub-plan

On 9th sep'08 the
programme started at 10.00am, in the presence of P.C KVK
South Sikkim, ASO Deptt. of Science & Technology, Zilla
Panchayat member of 16 Maneydara GPU and Ratey Pani,
Panchayat Sect. of Manneydara GPU, Panchayat President of
Nagi Pamphok GPU, Panchayat President of Bikmat Tangi GPU,
Reporters from Nayuma Tevevision Namchi and Resource persons
from SIRD Karfectar and Progressive bee farmer from Turuk
South Sikkim.
In the inagural
session P.C KVK South Sikkim, Welcomed everyone and detailed
about bringing up this programme specially at PamPhok, where
90% of its SC population is in below poverty line. she also
emphasis on farming of local bees and requested the entire
participant to keep the bee alive after receiving the bee
colonies.
Zilla Panchayat
Ratepani GPU, stressed on developmental works done by the
Govt. He also inform that every individual should be engaged
in doing something and not the sit ideal. He also informed
that Govt. has provided good marketing facilities of Organic
products and the farmers should take the advantage of same.
He also thanked KVK and Department of Science & Technology
for the support to the farmers of this region.
The Panchayat
Sect. of Maneydara GPU, also thanked KVK. He emphasized on
the lack of participants support. He also said that there is
a lack pf Knowledge among farmers about the scientific way
of bee keeping and there is a need of more training.
ASO, Dept. of
Science & Technology said that this is SC-sub-plan scheme
and is focused on Rateypani constituency. She also requested
all the beneficiaries to take care of bees after receiving
and take the great advantage from this training.
Lastly, SMS(KVK),
concluded the inaugural session with the vote of thank.
